It’s a chance to change your life, and maybe somebody else’s too! Spend 2 weeks with Soul Survivor worshipping God by serving in some of the most disadvantaged communities of South Africa. Give up some of your time to be changed as you meet the God who cares desperately about the poor, the broken and the hurting.

You could be doing anything from working in a crèche to rebuilding a playground, whilst your evenings will be opportunities to worship God in song and reflect on all that is going on whilst hanging out with loads of others.




We go to Durban motivated by love: love for God, love for those in his church and love for those who don’t know him.  We’re driven by the desire to support the people who serve year in year out, working in tough conditions, desperate to bring God’s kingdom to earth. We want to serve them and alongside them to serve people who are living in poverty.

We’re not going out pretending we have all the answers – the truth is we know we don’t!  But we can help.  We can be a part of the long-term solution for many of the problems that the people of Durban face.



Talking about poverty has become a bit of a national pastime.  This is great in that people are increasingly realising we have a responsibility to do all we can to help those who are living in unacceptable conditions. But SOULINTHECITY Durban is about more than talking about the issues and more than giving money.  For many of us it may be the first time we’ve come face to face with such desperate need, for some of us it will give us a greater picture of the problems faced by so many across the world.

SOULINTHECITY Durban is about opening our eyes.  Seeing for ourselves how hundreds of thousands of people live on a daily basis and finding out what God would have us do about it in our everyday lives. 



SOULINTHECITY Durban gives us a chance to go and be a part of the solution.  As we give just two weeks to serving those in need in Durban we can be a part of bringing change to this city.

But it’s not just about taking two weeks out.  We believe that as we open our hearts to God, we will be challenged and changed to continue seeking his kingdom for the rest of our lives, living out the life of faith that Jesus called us to.
